In January 2022, I completed a loan to a bio-gas project in The Netherlands, Groengas Brabant, through a crowdfunding platfprm OnePlanetCrowd.
The bio-gas reactor will take in a mix of farm animal manure and bio-waste from farmland, like the unedible parts of wheat and vegetables. These would otherwise rot into methane. The bio-gas installation will be certified by the ISCC, the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification organisation. The gas will be fed into the Dutch natural gas grid, where it can be used by 8000 households. In the future, when Dutch households have converted from gas to electricity, the gas can be further processed into e.g. Sustainable Air Fuel.
